Jim Clemons called me this morning (Friday).  He never stays on the phone long, but he does stay in touch at somewhat long intervals.  He’s moved into his new house, taking long walks each morning.  Has not played Bridge because....he’s writing a lot!  Once in awhile he sends me bits of what he’s writing.  He’s quite good and my guess is that he’d like to become published again.  Each email he sends seems to contain a well-written and interesting memory from his days in WWII, both during the war and afterwards, when he was stationed in Europe for some time.  So while Jim is not (yet, one hopes) back at the Bridge table, he’s thriving in his retirement in South Carolina (but complains of the heat sometimes).
